Q. Are there age limits for the driver?
A. You must be 25 years and over.
Q. Can more than one of our party drive the camper?
A. Yes. Up to three different people can be named drivers. We will need to see all drivers’ driving licenses, passports and a utility bill belonging to all drivers. This needs to be dated within the last 3 months. All drivers must be present at collection and return of vehicle.
Q. May I park my car while I am away?
A. Yes, off the road parking is no problem, but we accept no responsibility for the vehicle while you are away.
Q. Can we bring pets?
A. Sorry, pets are not allowed.
Q. Can we see the van before we book?
A. Yes, please ring or email to arrange a good time. Weekends are best.
Q. Do you deliver the van?
A. Usually we would expect the van to be collected but ask if this is a problem, we may be able to make special arrangements.
Q. What do we do if we have questions while we are away?
A. We will provide a helpful tips booklet in the van. If you still can’t solve your problem just ring!
Q. What are Carry on Campervanning office hours?
A. The office is open Monday to Friday 09.30 to 5.30pm and on Saturdays from 10.00am to 1.00pm. Outside of these hours please use the mobile or email to contact us.
Q. What time do we collect the camper?
High & Low Season Weekly Hire - (7 nights hire):
Rentals run from Friday afternoon (from 2pm onwards) and should be returned to us by 10am. We really do need the camper back in time in order that we can have it ready for the next hirer.
Long Weekend Rental (3 nights hire) & Midweek Rental (4 nights hire) :
For long weekend hire, the Camper is available for collection from 2pm onwards & should be returned to us by 10am on the Monday.
For midweek hire, the Camper is available for collection from 2pm onwards on Monday afternoon, and should be returned to us by 10am on the Friday.
Out of peak season and wherever possible, we are happy to be more flexible with collection/return times by prior arrangement. Please contact us if you require alternative collection/return times.
Q. Are personal belongings covered by the insurance?
A. No, the insurance provided within the hire charges does not cover you for loss/damage/theft to or of possessions and so we recommend you take holiday/travel insurance to cover this. We can arrange holiday insurance if requested.
Q. What do we need to bring with us for the hire?
A. The camper is fully equipped with bedding, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, etc but please bring your own towels.
We recommend that you travel light - the less you take with you, the more space the camper can give you!
Remember to bring with you driving licenses (both parts) for all the named drivers, together with each named drivers current valid UK passport & again for each named driver - a utility bill OR UK bank statement dated within the last 3 months (but not a mobile phone bill).
Q. Do we need to book a campsite in advance?
A. We would advise that you book your campsites in advance during the peak season and school holidays, particularly if you want electric hook-up which will enable you to use all the camper facilities to their full advantage.
Q. What type of fuel does the camper take?
A. The camper runs on unleaded petrol.
Q. How is the hob and grill fueled?
A. The camper is supplied with a LPG gas bottle which fuels both - this is included within the hire charge. We endeavor to ensure there is adequate gas supply for the length of your trip, but if you should run out please replace the bottle at a petrol station, camping shop or Calor Gas centre and we will reimburse you the cost on your return. Please keep receipt for proof of purchase.
Q. Can we take our bikes with us?
A. Currently we do not have a bike carrier that fits Flo, so this is not possible.
Q. Can the camper van take baby/child car-seats?
A.Yes. The campervan is fitted with 3 traditional three-point seatbelts to the rear seat, but in the extra 2 seats that make the van into a seven seater this is not possible as they are fitted with 2 lap belts.
Q. What happens if the vehicle should break down?
A. Of course this is highly unlikely! But for peace of mind, you have full roadside assistance cover from the AA. This means that assistance is available wherever you go, 24 hours around the clock. Our camper comes with an AA card with a 24 hour telephone number on it. On collection of the camper we will also provide you with a telephone number to reach us on outside of office hours.
Q. Can we take the camper out of mainland UK to Europe?
A. Yes Flo can be taken out of mainland UK to Europe but additional charges will be incurred. Please see the Tariffs page.
